2:19 pm - Procrastination

So all those things I need to do... I've half written one CV (seeing as I'm applying for a radio position and a teaching job, I think they're looking for different things) but haven't made a start on the other one.

Don't feel like it, either.

So apparently I did something wrong at work over 2 months ago and they've just found out and someone else got told off for it.  I didn't even know anything was wrong until he came up to me and was like, "Give me your work.  If I'm going to get told off I want it to be because I did something wrong, not somebody else."  Well, er, sorry?  But it sucks - that was the only thing left that I actually do at work.  This job is winding down fast and I'm stuck here until I either go to Paddington (in about a month) or get one of the jobs I really want.

I hate doing nothing at work.  It sucks.  I feel bad for being paid to do nothing and I hate being bored.  It's like that dude from the Reverend & The Makers says - "If you're bored then you're boring".

Aw.  I'm boring.

5:56 pm - Nearly 6 Months
Wow, it's been a while I guess?

So I got that dissertation done, and I ended up getting a 2:2 in my degree.  Not great, not terrible.  I deserved worse, let's put it that way.  So since then I have just been working, getting wasted, working, getting wasted, working... You get the idea.

I saw a job advertisement today for somewhere in Dubai.  I'm very tempted to take it.  I'll apply tonight.

Oh yeah.  Since I was last here I was nominated for the "Best New Show" with Xtreme Radio.  AND I won.  That was awesome.  So now it's made me give strong consideration to a career in radio.  Something else I'll have to look into applying for tonight - I saw a station recruiting, and I know some that take CV's at any time.

Need to get an audio editor for my .ogg files first of my old shows.  Edit them down for a demo tape.  *sigh*

So much to do.

Peace, kids.

11:09 pm - Work Tomorrow
It's that time again.  Off to the grind with the old man tomorrow to get some money under my belt for the upcoming term.  Should go to bed right now, really.  Got to be up in less than 7 hours.

Dissertation Update: 1024/8000 words done.  My aim: 4000 before I get back to Swansea (should be comfortable)

9:45 pm - Nearly 3 Months
I know it's been a while since I last came here and my post.  Truth be told I've popped by a few times and not felt I had anything much to share of any interest.

Okay, before I countinue, this Valentine's Day theme that LJ has going on today is ugly, and I hope it's gone by 12midnight whatever timezone they are based in.

Okay, so work is building up now, which is expected I suppose seeing as it's my third and final year (scary!).  I have my dissertation to contend with this term, but only one exam at the end of the year so I'm of the opinion that if I don't get a 90% in that exam then my whole 3 years here in Wales has been a total waste of my time.

Plans are in motion now to be getting my wings on and flying round the globe.  My original buddy is a doubt now for certain reasons I won't go into here, so I'll need to gather me a new group of eager beavers to head away from Blighty, most probably Down Under.  I'm going to apply to do a PGCE next December I think, which means I'll need to hang around until February in case an interview comes my way.  I would have applied this year except I don't think I have enough experience with children, so I need to get some under my belt to impress The Man.

I don't want to work for the man.

Okay guys, nice little catch up there, not too many details but meh, what you gunna do?  Have fun til next time, whenever that may be.

4:50 am - Melon
My ankle is the size of a melon! All I was doing was jumping up and down to a great song in Envy. Hey, I'm only human! Luckily there weren't too many good songs for the rest of the night so I didn't feel like I was missing too much, but my Converse must have been acting like some kind of support because once I took them off all the pain came through and my ankle swole massively and is now resting on some ice. Thought it was broken, as my paranoia is wont to tell me I've broken a bone whenever I get an injury. So how are you guys?

12:34 am - Casino Royale
Great movie. Nothing like any previous Bond movie, it compltetly breaks the mould. I would definitely say it's better than any Bond movie since GoldenEye (1995). Haven't made up my mind if it is better than GE yet, the jury is out. Need more time to think about it maybe. But it's a great Bond movie, he's back to his classical best, and I would definitely see this movie again and again and again and again.

1:56 pm - Rocky & Apollo
Shut up, Stallion!

So last night was the RAG Beer Race 2006 for charity in Swansea town, and it was a grand old affair with everyone all fancy dressed and everything. Some people put in an AMAZING amount of effort, such as the guy who came as Ganesh and had a huge paper mache (or however you spell it) head. Best costume of the night - but the people dressed as iPods were pretty cool too I thought!

Alas, I did not put in nearly that amount of effort. I was dressed as Apollo Creed, but I wasn't black because I just didn't account for how long it would take to get ready! I didn't have the cool top hat either - but at least I ordered it, it just never came, and the money never left my account either, oh well. Loads of people loved my costume, and loads hated it as well saying I didn't put enough effort in, but never mind, I'll get over it I'm sure.

Hats off to the people who put in such a tremendous effort last night!!

Not since my last entry, quite soon since the last time by my standards actually. But it's been a while since I've felt depressed. About 2 and a half years I make it to be. I guess old habits die hard. Looking forward to seeing Joe Ed and Alan though. I hope they ALL come to Swansea so we can tear it up big time. Yeah, that would be cool...

Hey guys, so I didn't tell you, but my radio slot got moved to Sunday mornings from 10am until 12pm. It was an absolutely nerve wracking time... for the first 10 minutes! I loved every moment of it thereafter, played some awesome tunes and so on, but I still need to find some more stuff to talk about I think...

For future reference, should you want to listen to my show as all my good friends should, you can do so by going to www.xtremeradio.org

11:36 am - Suppose I Should
Hey gang. Someone told me they were upset that I hadn't been posting blogs all summer long, and even tho I pop back to see what the craic is, I just haven't had the time over the summer. I mean, 60 hour weeks? It's abso-friggin-ridiculous. So anyway, I'm back in Swansea now and we've had two nights out to celebrate. Each one with SOMEONE getting mangled. I mean... mangled.

Joined the newspaper and the radio teams this year. Really want my own show for the radio. Saying that, if I got it, I think I'd freeze as I was about to go on air. Joined the newspaper so I have SOMETHING to put on my CV. Bah, nearly joined the cricket team too, but then I figured I didn't want to. They train ALL YEAR (cos, as we all know, cricket is a summer sport) and even then I know I wouldn't be good enough to get on the team.

Anywhosees, I'll see you guys on the flip flop laterrrrrrrs!

3:00 pm - Holidays and Football
Hey guys. Haven't checked when my last update was, but I imagine it's been a fair while. So just here to give a brief update on the latest things going on in my life...

Went to Tenerife there for a week with some people, them being Rebecca, Rachel, Lauren, Louise, Joseph, David C, David N, Lee and Alan. All in all it was a pretty good week, even if I didn't get a good tan due to some unfortunate burning on the first and second days. Not to worry, I'm sure I'll get another good tan before I die! We also did some pretty major hardcore drinking on a couple of occasions. Lee is now known as The Cardinal, for anyone who's interested.

So the weather in London is pretty hot, huh?

Anyway, went to Ireland on the same day that I got back from Tenerife, cos it was my grandparent's 60th Wedding Anniversary, so quite the momentous occasion it was. I went out drinking nearly every night and taught my cousins (well, 2 of them anyway) the game "Kings". Also played a lot of 25 and took a lot of someones money. Then lost it again. Oh well, breaking even is better than losing money, and more fun too.

I'm off to Ireland again on 3rd August for my sister's 18th.

Um... went to PowerLeague last night up in Beckton. Apparently we've taken the place of a team who dropped out because they were doing so bad. Luckily this season finishes next week, so we get to start on our own terms pretty soon. We lost the first game last night 16-11 and won the second 9-7, or 9-8, something like that anyway. Five-a-side is bloody tiring, and being in goal on astroturf is not fun! Also, nearly broke my thumb when that guy Stacy ran into me. Huge cracking sound when it happened, slightly swollen, I reckon it'll be okay by Thursday.

10:27 pm - Summer Ball 2006
Well, I have to say that this year was a mighty sight better than last years Summer Ball, in reverse compared to the awesome AU Ball last year compared with the average affair staged this year.

Anywhoos, we got there pretty late, due in part to Jay taking so long to get ready, as many (read: ALL) women are wont to do. Not as many people I know when this year as they did last year, but hell, it was freaking awesome. Nick had about 300 pictures on his camera, and over half an hour of video was on Jay's video camera.

I went on a reverse bungee, which was AWESOME! I was the only one who really wanted to go on, but you're not allowed on your own, so I convinced Jay to come along with me, YAY!! One of those things I'll remember for a long time to come I think!!

The bands that played this year included Hundred Reasons (again) and Idlewild, with Rachel Stevens also making a (brief) appearance. But we don't care so much about her. I was just disappointed that The Subways weren't able to play there in the end.

Went to Envy afterwards. Wednesdays suck in Envy, but I was really really REALLY wasted. And I fell asleep in the VIP room. That was cooool.

Man, that is one seriously messed up game. It freaks me out big time. Also, I'm on the second level and have been playing for at LEAST 5 hours, and I don't have a freaking clue if I'm a good guy or a bad guy, who my enemy is, what my enemy is or even what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. It's all very confusing.

12:44 am - And Repeat...
A couple more days like this and I am going to get the most awesomest tan ever! Waited too late to get out into the sun today, about 3pm, and even then only my arms were showing. Wasn't until we went to the beach (again) at about 6 that pretty much all was shown to the world. I wanna do some sunbathing tomorrow! STAY AWAY RAIN!!

So yeah, went to the beach for the second time today, had a barbecue, built some forts, it was just like being a little kid! Abso loved it. I love acting like a kid. I don't wanna have one for a while, or if I do, I'm just gunna act like his big brother being all silly and childish all the time! I'm so exhausted though...

6:26 am - Random Night
Aren't random nights invariably the best nights out? I find that, take last night for example. I say last night, I've only just got in the door! We were out to celebrate the end of Bills exams, and seeing as it's a week til my next one, I didn't see the harm. Went to Jaks, all normal, but then we bumped into one of his mates from back home who said they were going to the beach. So we went too! Although Bill took some persuading... We had a fire up and roaring all night and stayed til the sunrise! I also got myself buried in sand. That was fun. For some unknown reason, my whole body hurts. I think it was the dancing. I like dancing.

Can someone please tell me if this makes sense? I buy one jar of Chicken Tonight and it costs me £1.59. I buy TWO jars of Chicken Tonight... and it costs £1.50. Not each. For the pair. Spar needs to get a brain check, me thinks.
